Arthur Eze donates N200m to  Azman University

THE billion Oil mogul Chief Arthur Eze,who has been appointed as the Chancellor of the newly private university, the Azman University Kano, has donated N200 million, as part of his contribution for the development of the Institution.

Speaking on Sunday, during the inauguration of board of Trustee and governing council of the Institution, the Chairman of the University, Alhaji Dr AbdulManaf Yunusa Sarina, said the appointment of Arthur Eze as the Chancellor of the University was done as a recognition of his gigantic decades support to the Educational Development across Nigeria.

Alhaji Sarina  who is also the Pro-Chancellor of the University, Kano, further pledged that quality will be the watchword once the academic institution comes to full operation in the next few months.

“The Inaugurated Varsity Board of Trustees and Governing Council, would assist in the take-off activities and steering the affairs of the academic institution”

He disclosed that: “The  journey of the establishment of the University, started five years ago when I mulled the ambition of contributing my quota to education and the development of the teeming University education seeking Youth, by establishing a private varsity.”

He said the Nigeria Universities Commission (NUC), had accorded him all the support and encouragement, in the journey of the establishment of the University, adding that the Institution would also have some sample of free provisions of education to some vulnerable Youth who cannot have enough but have required request for University education.

“Quality is our watchword at Azman University, we shall ensure that we require quality staff and academicians and equally breed quality students and Education. All conditions and requirements set by NUC have been met and therefore we are fully ready to kick-off.”

While speaking on the occasion,the Chancellor of the University, Prince Engr. Arthur Eze, reminded how he enjoyed joys relationship with the North specifically Kano, during late former Kano Governor Abubakar Rimi, when he was accorded free Airtime at the only State owned Television CTV Kano.

 

“Since that, I developed sound relationship with the North on a quality background with me supporting the region in one way or the other as I recently supported Boko Haram victims with N800 Million to them”

While he Chairman of the occasion, Processor Muhammad Yahuza Bello said the board marks a critical milestone in the varsity journey which obtained its licence five years ago and is ready to start operation adding that this will enable it to come fully operational for the benefit of generations to come with a view to attain international refute as the two organs are to guide, assist and lead the management in handling the affairs of the varsity.

Earlier,the Vice President, Azman University, Mustapha Abdulmunafi Yunusa said the varsity is set to achieve and showcase the power of diversity, learning and growth with positive impacts on the environment and the world.

Members of the BoT inaugurated are Barr. Ado Mohammed Maaji as Chairman, Sarki Ibrahim Makama, Prof. Hafiz Abubakar, Prof. M.S. Haruna, Dr. Bashir Aliyu, Amb. Mannir Liman, Prof. Oguga Ikpeze, Zainab Abdulmunafi and Mustapha A. Yunusa who will serve as Secretary.

The members of the Governing Council are (Dr.) Abdulmunafi Yunusa as Chairman, Prof. Fatima Batul Mukhtar, Prof. Kabiru Isah Dandago, Prof. Aminu Kabir, Representative of the National Universities Commission, Dr. Yusuf Ibrahim Kofar Mata, Representative of the Bayero University Kano, Haruna Aliyu Yar Gaya and Mustapha Abdulmunafi Yunusa.
