2025: Tinubu loves intelligentsias like Soludo not dullards, APGA tells Anambra APC

The All Progressives Grand Alliance has warned the All Progressives Congress (APC) to stop dropping the name of President Ahmed Bola Tinubu about the 2025 governorship election in the state.

APGA’s warning was sequel to a comment credited to the APC deputy national organising secretary, Chief Nze Chidi Duru, that the president had concluded plans to sack the state governor, Prof Chukwuma Soludo, in 2023 and install an APC government in Anambra.

Reacting to Nze Duru’s comment, the National Coordinator of APGA Media Warriors Forum, Chinedu Obigwe, in a statement on Tuesday, admonished the APC in the state to stop dropping the president’s name, adding that from President Tinubu’s antecedents, he prefers working with intelligentsias like Soludo and not dullards.

Obigwe said,””The Tinubu that we know supports brainy individuals to be governors. Among those jostling to be Governor from Anambra APC, none of them can boast of being brainy or knows anything about governance like Governor Soludo.

“So if we go by personalities like Fayemi and Fashola that Tinubu supported in the past to be governors, you will discover that deep down in his heart, he will support Governor Soludo to use his 2nd term to complete the wonderful work he is doing in Anambra.

“He loves working with brainy people that have something to offer. The Tinubu that we know does not associate with characters that do not know anything about governance.

Continuing, the APGA media chief said,”The truth that must sink into the head of Anambra APC members is that the Anambra electorate have passed the stage of being hoodwinked with politics of name dropping.

“They should not tell us that Tinubu has set out plan to sack Soludo in 2025 Anambra poll because it is a senseless talk.

“Nze Chidi Duru that said that is Andy Uba planted stooge in the national working committee of APC.

“I see crisis brewing again in Anambra APC because Andy Uba stooges in the party are still insisting that he should be accorded recognition as Anambra APC leader even when he does not have any political office portfolio .

“Well, that is Anambra APC business.
All that I am saying is that politics of name dropping is old fashioned and will not work in Anambra.

“As long as 2025 governorship election is concerned, Governor Soludo remains the one and only best choice for ndi Anambra and that is my reason for saying that there is no vacancy in Anambra government House till 2029.
