As the 2027 general election approaches, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in the 2023 election, Mr. Peter Obi, has been advised to abandon his “no shishi” policy if he hopes for a better political outcome this time.

The founder of the Nigeria Ministers Project and the Apostolic Discipleship Project, Chief Apostle Fidel Chimezie, gave the advice during an exclusive chat with our correspondent at her Umuoji country home in Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra State.

Chief Apostle Chimezie, who also serves as the Interim National Vice President of the National Coalition of Apostles, Bishops, Archbishops, and Cardinals (NCABAC), argued that Obi’s “no shishi” approach negatively affected his 2023 presidential outing, insisting that money remains an essential tool in politics

.“The 2027 general election is around the corner,” she said. “If Peter Obi continues to preach his ‘no shishi’ policy, I’m sorry, he’s going nowhere; because, even in the realm of the spirit, the highest bidder takes it. This is what the Spirit of God is saying.”

According to her, while Obi had the financial capacity to pursue victory in 2023, he chose to rely solely on public support, neglecting aspects of the electoral process that required funding.

“Money was involved in Jesus’ death and resurrection because the beautiful tomb where He was buried was prepared with money,” she explained.

“Money was also involved in the Last Supper and in the feeding of the five thousand. If Obi is serious about rescuing Nigeria, he must play the game according to the rules of politics.”

She maintained that Obi has the capability and divine grace to win but must learn to deploy resources where necessary.

“He has to offer money to get there; when he gets there, he can then start the rebuilding process. Every level of politics and electioneering has its own peculiar procedure,” she added.

Chief Apostle Chimezie also noted that Obi’s attitude towards campaign logistics discouraged some of his supporters.

“I travelled with my team to see Peter Obi. We lodged in a hotel for two days waiting for him, and he didn’t provide even a sachet of water. Nigerians are not yet mature for that kind of idealism. If he wants to win in 2027, he must offer ‘shishi,’ because those who bought votes in 2023 are ready to do it again,” she warned.

On the political platform Obi could use in 2027, she said he possesses the grace to succeed anywhere if he obeys divine instruction.

“Obi’s issue is not about platform—PDP, APC, LP, or ADC. It is about his disposition and willingness to obey. Once he follows the guidance of the Holy Spirit and drops his ‘no shishi’ policy, angels will fight for him,” she said.

The cleric further advised Obi to reconcile with the Spiritual Director of the Adoration Ministry, Enugu, Nigeria (AMEN), Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka, stressing that reconciliation would strengthen his spiritual position.“Anything he wants, please give him. It is well,” she urged.

On why President Bola Ahmed Tinubu was declared winner of the 2023 election, Apostle Chimezie said Tinubu prevailed due to his spiritual positioning.

“Tinubu got it right at the spiritual realm—whether positive or negative. There are positive and negative supernatural forces. When the negative operates, the people suffer; when the positive takes charge, blessings follow,” she stated.

She concluded that only a leader with complete spiritual commitment and obedience to divine instructions could challenge Tinubu effectively in 2027, warning that partial commitment “will not work for Obi.”
