The governor of Anambra State, Prof Chukwuma Soludo has congratulated a former governor of the state, Mr Peter Obi, on his 62nd birth.
In a three-paragragh birthday message signed by the Press Secretary to the governor, Mr Christian Aburime , around 4pm on Wednesday, Soludo while praying for long life and good health for the presidential candidate of the Labour Party in the 2023 general elections, described him( Obi) as a businessman and politician.
The statement read in part,”The Governor of Anambra State, Professor Chukwuma Charles Soludo, CFR has congratulated the Presidential Candidate of Labour Party at the February 2023 Presidential election, Mr. Peter Obi, CON, on the occasion of his 62nd birthday anniversary.
On behalf of the government and good people of Anambra State, the Governor joins other well meaning Nigerians to wish Mr Peter Obi happy birthday. He equally prayed for long life and good health as he marks his 62nd birthday anniversary
“Mr. Peter Gregory Obi, CON is a businessman and politician who served as Governor of Anambra State under the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA from March to November 2006, February to May 2007, and June 2007 to March 2014.”
Recall that a former National Chairman of APGA, Chief Victor Umeh, who is currently the Senator representing Anambra Central Senatorial District, on the platform of the Labour Party,
co-marks his birthday with Obi on July 19.
As a recent norm in the state, successive APGA governments in Anambra State
co-celebrates the duo on the same day.
As of the time of filing this report, the Soludo government had not issued any statement congratulatory message to Umeh.
In 2022 Umeh dumped APGA for LP to vie for the Senate seat of the Anambra Central Senatorial District after he lost the APGA Senatorial primary election in astonishing circumstances.
Umeh later accused the “powers that be” of edging him out from APGA.
