Today’s session at the Anambra State House of Assembly witnessed significant legislative activities geared towards enhancing the welfare of the citizens and the overall development of the state.

Hon. Kingsley Udemezue presented the Anambra State Market Safety Bill, 2023, a visionary legislation aimed at ensuring the safety and protection of markets within the state. The proposed bill aligns with the commitment of the Assembly to create an enabling environment for businesses and communities to thrive.

πŒπŽπ“πˆπŽππ’ π‘π„π’πŽπ‹π•π„πƒ:
Hon. Jude Umennajiego moved a motion calling on the Executive Governor of Anambra State, Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo, to direct the Anambra State Road Maintenance Agency (ARMA) to urgently commence palliative work on dilapidated spots at Modebe Avenue and Iweka Road, specifically in front of Ochanja Central Market, Onitsha. The motion aims to alleviate traffic congestion and enhance road safety in the area.

Hon. Ike Augustine Onyekachukwu sponsored a motion urging Governor Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo to direct the Commissioner for Health to initiate the establishment of a general hospital in Nnewi North LGA. This initiative is intended to provide accessible healthcare services to residents, thereby contributing to the overall well-being of the people.

In another motion, Hon. Johnbosco Akaegbobi called on Governor Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo to direct the Commissioner for Environment and the Managing Director of Anambra State Erosion, Watershed and Climate Change Agency (ANSEWCCA) to urgently address the erosion challenges affecting Osigbo and Uhu Ebe communities in Nnewi South Local Government Area. This motion underscores the Assembly’s commitment to safeguarding communities from environmental degradation.
