Anambra Vigilance group AVG, has rescued four kidnap suspects , while killing one of the alleged suspects.
The incident happened at the commercial city of Onitsha, Wednesday night
The security operatives were members of the Anambra state Vigilance Group, AVG from the Onitsha metropolis.
Three of the vehicles of the kidnapped victims were equally recovered by the Vigilance team,including AK-47 riffle and a pistol.
The incident, The Razor, gathered took place in different locations in the commercial city between 8.30 to 9pm.
In a viral video sited by The Razor Thursday, the victims mentioned their names and from different communities like Urualla in IMO state, Abba and Neni in Anambra state.
It was further gathered from the victims, that through out the incident, police operatives were no where to be seen on the roads.
Though the the state police public relations officer, Tochukwu Ikenga, could not be reached, but one of the senior police officers who pleaded anonymity, confirmed the incident.
The source told The Razor, that investigations were already on going, assuring that those behind the alleged kidnappings would be apprehended soon.
“You can see that Anambra state has become calm for some time now, especially, since the arrival of our new Commissioner, Mr Aderemi Adoye and those hoodlums are not happy. They want to try our patience and they will see it.
“They are no longer unknown gunmen, they want to return to kidnapping, but this state will not contain them. The command is ready for them” the source said
Meanwhile, none of the victims was injured during the shootout between the security operatives and the miscreants.
