A mammoth crowd of politicians from various parts of Anambra Central zone on Saturday gathered in a rally in Awka to affirm their support for the Anambra State governor, Prof Chukwuma Soludo.
The rally, was organized by the Managing Director of Awka Capital Territory Development Agency, ACTDA, Mr Ossy Onuko, through a political organisation; Solution Team Organisation, to drum support for the governor not just for his second term bid, but to show support for his strides in Anambra in less than two years in office.
Speaking at the zonal rally which had the theme: Soldiering the Solution Agenda, Onuko said: “The people you are seeing here are not just members of our political party, APGA, but people from Labour Party, PDP, APC and many others.
“The central thing that brought us all together is the fact that we love what Soludo is doing in Anambra State. In just one year and seven months, the governor has demonstated commitment to transform the face of Anambra State.”
He went further to reel out the many achievements of the Soludo administration, including the employment of over 5,000 teachers, 3,000 health workers, flagging off and construction of several toads across Anambra State, the construction of the Ekwulobia flyover bridge and many others, saying such stride in a short while was unprecedented.
Other speakers at the event, including the national coordinator of the Solution Team Organisation, Chief Akaoma Jideaku, who is also known as Obayo, praised the turn out at the rally, saying it is a huge testament of the love people have for Soludo.
“We didn’t know we will have this massive turn out. We are over populated, we did not expect this massive crowd. Those who have not gotten seats would be patient. We will bring seats, even canopies.
“This solution team is a movement of persons of all political parties all of who believe in Soludo.”
The crowd erupted in jubilation, when the Deputy governor, Dr Onyeka Ibezim and the Governors Special Adviser Political made their way into the arena, and announced their representation for Governor Chukwuma Soludo.
The rally may have signalled the begining of a second term bid for the governor, just as another governorship hopeful, Senator Ifeanyi Ubah had last week announced his movement from Young Progressives Party (YPP), to All Progressives Congress (APC), signaling his readiness for the 2025 Anambra governorship election.
