The South-East Governors’Forum Secretariat has congratulated the Abia State Governor, Dr Alex Otti and Prof Barth Nnaji on the launch of $800 million Geometric Power Plant in Aba.
A statement signed by the Director General of the forum, Senator Uche Ekwunife, described the development as
a milestone to leap forward the region’s quest for sustainable energy solutions and economic development.

“The South East Governors Forum Secretariat congratulates Dr. Alex Otti, the Governor of Abia State, on the momentous occasion of the launch of the $800 million Geometric Power Plant in Aba. This milestone marks a significant leap forward in the region’s quest for sustainable energy solutions and economic development.
“The establishment of this state-of-the-art power facility underscores the administration’s dedication to addressing the energy needs of the state and driving socio-economic transformation.
“The $800 million investment in the Geometric Power Plant not only enhances Abia’s energy infrastructure in the 17 LGAs but also positions the state as a key player in Nigeria’s power sector. With a capacity to generate substantial electricity, the plant holds the potential to catalyze industrialization, attract investment, and create employment opportunities within Aba and beyond.
