The Senator representing Anambra Central Senatorial District, Senator Dr Victor Umeh OFR (Ohamadike Ndigbo) has described erstwhile Governor of Anambra State, late Dr Chukwuemeka Ezeike, as an advocate of fiscal federalism.
In his tribute, Senator Umeh eulogized late Dr. Chukwuemeka Ezeife for his stout and unwavering commitment in the advocacy for fairness, equity and justice in governance especially in the quest for fiscal federalism and restructuring of Nigeria.
He further extolled former Governor Ezeife for his groundbreaking achievements during his reign as Governor of Anambra State.
Adding, Umeh said,”People who worked with Okwadike will forever miss him. He was a very forthright man. A man who never feared anybody.
“He spoke his mind on any issue and he stood for the downtrodden, the oppressed, the weak in the society.
“He lived his life believing that Nigeria will someday be good for all Nigerians, with justice, equity and fairness for all. He wanted a Nigeria where there shall be social inclusiveness in the things we do.
“Now that he is gone, we bid him farewell. Like the Labour Union would say: “Aluta Continua, Victoria Aceta” we will continue in fight for a just and fair Nigeria. May his soul rest in peace, Amen.”
