South East APC Young Progressives Forum has strongly condemned in totality the recent threats against Igbo people in Lagos and other South-Western states.

These threats, circulating on social media under the hashtag #IgboMustGo, demand the forced relocation of Igbo residents from these areas.

In a statement issued on Friday in Awka Anambra State, the National Convener, Comrade Paschal Candle warned that nobody should take the silence of Ndi Igbo as an Act of Cowardice.

“We want to state it categorically that Ndigbo are not cowards; There would be severe consequences should any violence occur against Igbo people. We will not tolerate such provocations any more.”

“We urge those inciting discord to retrace their steps. Those behind these threats should be made to understand the resilience, strength and resolve of the Igbo people when they are faced with such threats and any aggression towards Ndi Igbo would be met with retaliation. Enough is Enough.” He asserted.

“We are calling on security agencies to arrest those responsible for these threats, warning that failure to act would suggest complicity. We are calling on President Tinubu and the Federal Government to address the issue decisively and give th security operatives the command to go after these people.”

“We call Our Igbo Leaders irrespective of Party affiliations to rise and speak. This is not time to be silent. They should speak up. Enough of this hatred and threats. Our Leaders should condemn this in all totality.”

“We call on our Fellow young people, to stop the protest. We have made our points. We have passed our message to Mr President and the Federal Government.

“Let us leave the street and allow the Government to address some of the issues raised. Dialogue is the best diplomacy. Let us engage the Government on a round table. ”

“We believe Mr President is willing to listen. With superior ideas, we can win. The country belongs to us all. Let us make it great. Violence and Protests cannot achieve our desired goal. God bless you all.”
