A chieftain of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Chinedu Obigwe, has said that the authentic leadership of the party will field candidates in the September 28 local government elections in Anambra State.

He described Edozie Njoku as an impostor in APGA, maintaining that Sly Ezeokenwa remains the authentic National Chairman of the party.

According to our correspondent, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) recently recognized Njoku as the National Chairman of the party and published his name on its portal.
But in a statement made available to newsmen in Awka, Anambra State, on Thursday, Obigwe insisted that Njoku was not recognized .

Obigwe, who is the National Coordinator of APGA Media, stated that the party’s genuine members only recognize Barrister Sly Ezeokenwa as the National Chairman and Anambra State Governor, Prof Chukwuma Soludo, as the national leader. He emphasized that the Anambra State Independent National Electoral Commission (ANSIEC) will not recognize Njoku’s leadership claim.

Obigwe further stated that the authentic APGA leadership will field candidates for the forthcoming September 28 local government election, and only those candidates will be recognized by ANSIEC.
