Senator Uche Ekwunife (Iyom), Ph.D, CON, has congratulated Nigerians on the nation’s 64th Independence Anniversary, calling for unity and collective action to build a safer and more prosperous nation.

In a statement released yesterday, Ekwunife commended the resilience of Nigeria’s democracy and the unwavering dedication of citizens, particularly civil servants, security personnel, and youths.

She praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, citing economic recovery, infrastructure development, and enhanced national pride.

Ekwunife also acknowledged the efforts of South-East governors, led by Senator Hope Uzodimma, in promoting democracy, security, and economic growth in the region.

The senator urged Nigerians to remember the sacrifices of the nation’s founding fathers and work together to strengthen democratic institutions, uphold the rule of law, and ensure freedom, justice, and equity for all.

“Let us resolve to support one another and pursue the common good with renewed vigor,” Ekwunife said, adding “Together, we can overcome challenges and make Nigeria a shining example of democracy, peace, and progress in Africa and beyond.”

She wished all Nigerians a happy Independence Day filled with hope, peace, and unity.
