The Catholic Women’s Organization, CWO, of Nimo Deanery has held its triennial convention and the installation of the founder of All for Women Initiative Nigeria, A-WIN, Comrade Stella Igboka as “Ugochinyelu” of the deanery.
The event which took place in Nimo, Njikoka Local Government Area of Anambra State drew members of the organization from within and outside the deanry.
CWO is a statutory body and an arm of the laity of the Catholic Church instituted for the Christian formation of women.
Consequently, the installation of Comrade Igboka and other awardees is one of the ways the organisation achieves the objectives of having a medium of expression in the internal and external matters of the church.
In an address to the convention, the Director of CWO Awka Diocese, Lady Sabina Ndigwe, reminded Christian mothers that the call to motherhood is a vocation that can only be answered through Christlike lifestyle and asked make their contributions to the development of the society especially in areas that involve their faith and gain converts by example of Christian living, love and service to neighbours.
Earlier during the homily, Reverend Father John-Mac Okafor inspired mothers especially at this difficult times to go on with joy and faith in carrying out their responsibilities.
Thanking the women of the deanry on behalf of other awardees, Comrade Igboka said that her love for improve the welfare of women in the society inspired her to found A-WIN which is designed to touch the lives of the downtrodden in the society.
Decorating and installation of the recipients with their various awards by the Chaplain of CWO in the Diocese, Very Rev.Fr. Jonas Unegbu and cutting of convention cake by the four parishes that make up Nimo Deanery formed the highpoints of the event.
