Sir Paul Chukwuma, a frontline governorship aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Anambra State, has reiterated that the people of the state have no agreement on zoning or rotation of power for the governorship seat.

Chukwuma stated that the propaganda of zoning is being propagated by the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) to deceive the people and maintain their hold on power.

He stated this during a meeting with media executives in his country home, Nneyi Umueri community, Anambra East Local Government Area.

According to Chukwuma, the zoning pattern currently operating in the state is entirely an APGA arrangement, created to perpetuate their rule since 2006.

He emphasized that his party, the APC, has not agreed to such power-sharing formula in place and is poised to take over power in the next governorship election.

Chukwuma noted that those pushing the zoning narrative are trying to deceive the people, pointing out that candidates from other zones had always contested elections in the state, regardless of APGA’s zoning decisions.

He criticized the current state of affairs in Anambra under Governor Chukwuma Soludo, stating that he( Paul) has a clear vision for addressing the state’s governance deficits.

Chukwuma lamented the poor treatment of civil servants, inadequate security, and excessive taxation of traders and the private sector.

“I have presented myself for the service of the people with a clear-cut blueprint on how to turn around the state in a positive light,” Chukwuma stated, adding “My administration will prioritize security, shun nepotism, and adopt a holistic approach to security issues in the state.”
