A recent statement by Dozie Ikedife Jr, Zonal Organising Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Southeast, has sparked controversy.

Ikedife boasted that an APC governor would end insecurity in Anambra within three months, a claim that has been interpreted as a stunning admission of the party’s involvement in the state’s security crisis.

According to Chinedu Obigwe, National Coordinator of APGA Media Forum, the APC leaders are using insecurity as a campaign tool for the forthcoming November 8th, 2025 governorship election.

Obigwe stated that Ikedife’s statement has unwittingly exposed the sponsors of insecurity in Anambra and their motives.

Obigwe criticized Ikedife Jr, saying he is “living in a fool’s paradise” and is a disappointment to his late father, Dozie Ikedife Jr, former President General of Ohanaeze Ndi Igbo.

Ikedife Jr’s past political record has also been called into question, having lost his ward, local government, and senatorial zone in the 2017 governorship election.

Obigwe argued that Ikedife Jr’s claim is proof that the insecurity problem is politically motivated.

He noted that Anambra electorate are aware of the situation and will not vote for sponsors of insecurity.

Governor Soludo’s administration has been tackling insecurity issues in Anambra, and Obigwe noted that the administration is winning the fight.

Obigwe maintained that Ikedife is “daydreaming” and that Anambra electorate will reject the APC again in the 2025 election, opting instead for Governor Soludo, who is providing solutions to the state’s problems and delivering good governance.
