Senator Uche Ekwunife, Director-General of the South-East Governors Forum (SEGOF), has evaluated the performance of the governors in the region, praising their achievements in various sectors.
In a Christmas message, Senator Ekwunife commended the governors for their collaborative efforts and visionary leadership, which she said had transformed the region through development initiatives.
Ekwunife specifically praised Governor Alex Otti of Abia State for his dedication to industrialization, bolstered by uninterrupted power supply, large-scale road construction, education reform, and civil service modernization.
She also lauded Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State for prioritizing job creation through the recruitment of over 10,000 teachers and healthcare professionals, as well as his focus on urban renewal, road development, and infrastructure.
Ekwunife commended Governor Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi State for championing rural and technological development, youth empowerment, and major infrastructure projects, including the establishment of a University of ICT and expansive water schemes.
Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu State was acknowledged for addressing the state’s longstanding water supply challenges and investing in healthcare, rural connectivity, and world-class infrastructure.
Senator Ekwunife noted that Governor Mbah’s preparedness for governance has been evident in his swift delivery of results.
Senator Hope Uzodinma of Imo State received praise from Senator Ekwunife for his achievements in infrastructure development, healthcare, education, and security.
She commended the governor’s efforts in transforming Imo into a benchmark for rapid development.
The South-East Governors’ scribe emphasized the collective commitment of the governors to improving regional security and fostering a conducive environment for investment and economic growth.
“The South-East is on track to becoming a preferred destination for investors, driving prosperity for our people,” Ekwunife noted.
As she extended heartfelt Christmas wishes to the people of the South-East and Nigerians nationwide, Senator Ekwunife encouraged citizens to embrace the spirit of Christmas and remain steadfast in their support for the governors’ leadership and vision.
“On behalf of SEGOF, I wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Let us continue to support and pray for our leaders as we look forward to a brighter 2025,” she concluded.
I made minor changes to improve clarity and grammar, including changing “maintained” to “concluded” in the final paragraph to better match the tone of the sentence.
