Nimo community thanks Soludo for dislodging criminals in Owa forest

Nimo community in Njikoka Local Government Area of Anambra State has thanked the governor, Prof Chukwuma Soludo for his intervention in dislodging criminals who camped in their forests, terrorizing indigenous.

The traditional ruler of the community, Igwe Maxi Ike Oliobi in a press conference in his palace on Friday said the timely intervention of the governor helped the community to celebrate Christmas successfully, without cases of killings and kidnap.

The community had in December cried to Soludo over the occupation of their forests by kidnappers. On Christmas eve, joint security operatives on the order of the governor dislodged the criminals, destroying their camp and recovering 19 improvised explosive devices.

The traditional ruler together with the Onowu of the community, Hon Justice  GU Ononiba said the single effort of the governor brought relief to the community and that since after then, there have not been any incident of robbery or kidnapping in the community.

He said: “We wish to express our profound happiness/gratitude to Prof. Chukwuma Soludo and his team for dislodging the gunmen that camped at Owa Nimo forest and have been terrorizing our dear town and neighboring towns.

“During the yuletide period, there were no news of kidnapping, car snatching and other social vices in Nimo. This singular act of His Excellency enabled Ndi Nimo and the neighboring towns to celebrate the yuletide comfortably without fear of any form of insecurity.

“We cannot thank him enough for the protection of life and properties during this past yuletide. We also implore him to maintain the tempo by making sure that the criminals do not return. We, the good people of Nimo know that security is key to a good governance.”

The community also expressed their happiness over some infrastructural projects being undertaken in their community by the governor.

Oliobi listed some of them to include; Construction of Uruegbe Nimo road, through Eke Udo to Oye Agu Abagana, Rehabilitation of Nimo/Neni road and construction of St. Vincent Primary School Nimo/Ekeudo Nimo road, which he said is ongoing.

He praised the governor, saying the community is aware that his efforts are geared towards making Anambra State a prosperous and liveable state.
