Rev. Father Ernest Okoli, at the requiem mass for Chief Anthony Anigbogu Ikeh, held at St. Martin’s Catholic Church, Ihiala, Anambra State, cautioned Christians against placing undue emphasis on earthly wealth.
Presided over by Cardinal Peter Okpalaeke of Ekwulobia Catholic Diocese, Anambra State, the mass drew mourners from far and wide. In his homily, Rev. Fr. Okoli emphasized that true wealth lies in pursuing the kingdom of God, rather than accumulating material riches. “Our journey on earth is not solely about acquiring wealth, but about living a decent life and worshiping God with our wealth,” he said.
Rev. Fr. Okoli eulogized the late Chief Ikeh, describing him as a “kind-hearted and humble individual” who lived a simple life. He encouraged the congregation to emulate Chief Ikeh’s virtues, particularly his humility and commitment to community service.
