Anambra APC stakeholders decry alleged compromise in Delegate Congress

Politics

The delegate Congress of the APC ahead of the November 2025 Governorship Election in Anambra State, has been sabotaged by the Anambra State Congress Committee, led by Alhaji Mohammed Abubakar, former governor of Bauchi State.

The Committee made up of other party members and stakeholders, including Mohammed Abubakar as Chairman, alongside Egogbamu Okoro, Ba’ande Imam, Augustine Agada, Babangida Abdullahi, Umar Hassan Augie, and Dr Chibuzor Nduaguda, also has the party’s National Secretary, Emma Eneukwu on the ground in Anambra State and he is accused of masterminding a grand plot to derail the Congress Committee’s mandate.

As at 2pm on Saturday March 15, the date of the Congress across the 326 wards in Anambra State, there is no sign of any Congress throughout the 326 wards in Anambra State.

Stranded and compromised, some ward chairmen constituted themselves into both aspirants and returning officers in their wards, to no avail.

Many of the returning officers of the party for the Congress are people fully attached and working for a governorship aspirant.

For now, many APC faithful in Anambra believe that the party at the National will intervene and salvage the situation.
