Soludo Inaugurates Security Supervisory Committee

In a decisive move to enhance the safety and security of residents in Anambra State, Governor Chukwuma Soludo has officially inaugurated a new state security supervisory committee.

The Governor performed the function at the Governor’s Lodge, Amawbia.

Members of the Committee include the Governor or his representative, Commissioner for Homeland Affairs, Special Adviser on Security, representative of the Nigeria Police Force, DSS, NSCDC.

Others are Chairman, House of Assembly Committee on Security, Chairman, State Council of Traditional Rulers, Mayors of the twenty one local government areas, State Counsel from the Ministry of Justice.

The initiative comes amid growing concerns over rising insecurity and threats to public safety in the region.

The committee among other things, is charged with the mandate of ensuring that the Units of Agunechemba and their members are duly registered in accordance with the law, monitor their activities and generally improve the overall security landscape in the state.

During the inauguration ceremony, Governor Soludo emphasized the urgent need for innovative solutions to address the challenges posed by crime and social unrest.

While stating that insecurity is a multifaceted issue that requires a collective approach, the Governor noted that the committee will serve as a vital platform for collaboration between government agencies and the community to create a safer environment for all citizens of Anambra.

The inauguration was attended by prominent figures, including the relevant security chiefs, traditional rulers, leaders of local groups, among others.
