President Bola Tinubu is due in Anambra state on May 10 to commission some of the projects of Governor Chukwuma Soludo
Among such projects are, the massive governor’s lodge, the fun city and the Ekwulobia flyover that links many communities in the state.
Already, the projects are receiving finishing touches as Prof Soludo and his team had embarked on tours of the sites.
As a result, restrictions had been placed on some of the project sites, while security has already been beefed up in those areas awaiting the visit of Mr President
Also, the refurbished Dr Alex Ekwueme square in Awka, has been closed down from being used as a fitness exercise centre by the public by the government
If Tinubu visits Anambra on the planned date, he is likely to come back to the state before the November 8 governorship election to campaign for his party’s governorship candidate, Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu
Since the arrangements of President Tinubu’s visit to Anambra state, members of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA had been celebrating it.
For the Press Secretary to Soludo, Mr Christian Aburime, the Soludo story is not stopping or resting on its oars. It is shifting from gear to gear, powering transformational development and growth
“As the first lap concludes, a new phase begins, a phase of bold acceleration, deeper transformation, and the crystallisation of Anambra’s destiny.
“Governor Soludo’s next chapter is built around scale and sustainability. Three new smart cities, namely Awka 2.0, Next Onitsha, and the Anambra Mixed-Use Industrial City (AMIC), are poised to redefine urban living in Nigeria.
“Awka 2.0 is envisioned as Africa’s first truly smart and green city, where AI, renewable energy, and clean mobility meet seamless governance.
“Next Onitsha will emerge as a commercial, logistics, and retail powerhouse, complete with Africa’s largest shopping mall, revitalising the region’s historical trade legacy.
“Governor Soludo’s next phase includes a comprehensive Oncology Centre, Anambra’s answer to Nigeria’s growing cancer burden” Aburime said
He said, Soludo’s three-year track record has silenced doubters and inspired believers.
