The Anambra State House of Assembly Committee on Works and Infrastructure has carried out a strategic inspection of the ongoing dualization of the Nnewi-Ozubulu Road, reaffirming its commitment to quality infrastructure and improved connectivity across the state.
Led by the Committee Chairman, Engineer Emma Nwafor, the legislative team visited the construction site to evaluate the pace, standard, and challenges facing the multi-million naira project, an initiative designed to decongest traffic and boost economic activity in the region.
Engineer Nwafor emphasized the importance of the road in linking the industrial hub of Nnewi with adjoining communities, calling it a critical economic lifeline for the state.
“We are here to ensure that this project reflects the quality and vision set forth by the Anambra State Government. This road is pivotal to regional commerce and daily mobility, and we won’t compromise on standards,” he asserted.
Also speaking during the oversight visit, Minority Leader of the House, Honourable Johnbosco Akaegbobi, commended the level of progress achieved, while urging the contractor to uphold quality and deliver the project within the agreed timeframe.
“This project holds significant economic potential for the state. Timely and quality completion is non-negotiable,” Hon. Akaegbobi stressed.
Providing updates, the Project Engineer, Mr. Ola Kings, outlined the scope of the work—including full road expansion and drainage system installations—and assured that the project would be delivered on schedule.
The inspection signals the Assembly’s resolve to monitor key infrastructure projects and ensure they align with the state’s development agenda.
