PARALLAX SNAPS: Who Takes the Keys to Soludo’s Mega Govt House by March Next Year?

Opinion

BY TONY OKAFOR

As the gleaming new Anambra Government House stands completed—a crowning achievement of Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s vision—a crucial question looms: who will occupy this seat of power after the November 8 governorship election?

More than just a structure, the new Government House symbolizes a broader political aspiration, and its completion raises the stakes in an election that could define the legacy of Soludo’s administration.

There is something disconcerting about a leader investing so much time, energy, and resources into a landmark project, only for another to inherit it.

But in the unforgiving arena of politics, legacy alone is never enough.

Governance is not sentimental. Voters prioritize performance, trust, and perception over emotional appeals. What may seem ethically unfair can still be democratically valid.

To earn a second term and fully realize his development blueprint, Governor Soludo must prove that his leadership has translated into real, measurable change.

Tangible achievements—economic reform, job creation, improved security, and responsive governance—are the true hallmarks of electability.

Equally vital is inclusive leadership: a government that listens, empathizes, and acts in the public interest.

Trust is not conferred—it is earned.

As Soludo faces public scrutiny, voters will ask: Has he kept his promises? Has he moved beyond symbolic projects? Has he governed with both vision and compassion?

Fifteen challengers from various political parties will present their visions.

The people will ultimately decide: Should Soludo continue in office to consolidate his agenda, or should a new occupant take charge of Anambra’s future?

This election is about direction—whether to embrace continuity or pursue change.

Politics may not always align with personal fairness, but in a democracy, power rests with the people.

The clock is ticking. Come March 17, 2026, someone will take the keys to the new Government House—and to Anambra’s future.

That choice will shape the next chapter in the state’s unfolding story.
