Drama at House of Assembly as suspended member, Udemezue is ejected from budget presentation
Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State is set to present 2026 budget appropriation before the House of Assembly today 25th November 2025.
Security personnel including Police, DSS, NSCDC, among others are all on ground waiting for the arrival of the Governor to the Legislative Chambers.
Top Government functionaries including Commissioners, Special Advisers, Media Aids, CEO s of various Agencies and parastatals , traditional rulers, Party Faithful, as well as Civil Society Organizations are also seated and waiting for the August visitor.
The Suspended member of the House of Assembly, Mr Bernard Udemezue representing Ayamelum Constituency was also seen inside the Legislative Chambers .
Drama however played out when the Deputy Speaker, Mr Chukwuma Okoye, and the Memebr representing Oyi Constituency, Mr Innocent Ojike approached the suspended Law maker and accompanied him out of the Chamber in company of security personnel.
The House leadership also went upstairs at the galary and walked out all supporters of the law maker who had accompanied him to the plenary.
According to them, the Law maker did not follow due process after his three months suspension elapsed .
In defence, Mr Udemezue claimed that he followed due process and had submitted necessary letters for resumption to the appropriate authorities before his appearance.
The Security operatives however insisted and walked him to the new Legislative building where he is being detained.
As at the time of filing this report, the people still awaits the arrival of the Govermor for his budget presentation.
