Speaking at the event, the Managing Director, EEDL, Engr. Nnamdi Chuka-Nwosu, commended the staff for their resilience, commitment, and remarkable achievements throughout the year, describing the occasion as a moment of reflection, gratitude, and renewed hope.

“It has been a wonderful year and a remarkable experience working with all of you. You have been awesome. You have done the unthinkable and achieved new milestones. It is only natural that we come together as one family to appreciate ourselves and, above all, thank God for making it possible,” Chuka-Nwosu said.

He noted that the celebration marked the beginning of even greater accomplishments, encouraging staff to relax, celebrate, and enjoy the moment.

In his remarks, the Chief Commercial Officer, EEDL, Mr. Cyprian Nwankwegu, applauded the workforce for their diligence and commitment, noting that the year had been particularly robust for the Commercial team.

“We give God the glory that despite the intensity of our operations, no life was lost”

“The cooperation between the Commercial and Operations teams has been commendable, and this collective effort made our achievements possible,” he said.

Similarly, the Chief Technical Officer, Engr. Obinna Nwachukwu, expressed appreciation to staff across departments for their unwavering support and outstanding performance during the year.

He highlighted significant milestones recorded by the Operations and Technical teams, particularly in safety and service delivery.

“Safety remains paramount. This year, we recorded zero accidents, which is a testament to the discipline, professionalism, and commitment of our staff. Without life, no achievement is possible,” he stated, while encouraging staff to sustain and surpass the current standards.

A total of 40 staff members were recognised with awards for their outstanding and exemplary performance across various functions. Award categories included: Best Customer Service Representative, Best Operations Technician, Best Operations Maintenance Supervisor (OMS), Best Marketer, among others.

In a demonstration of inclusive leadership, the Managing Director also presented an award to the Best Cleaner, emphasising the critical role support staff play in ensuring a conducive work environment.

“Your work is essential. Without you, even for one day, our offices would not be habitable,” he said.

He further enlivened the event by engaging staff with interactive questions and presenting cash prizes, adding excitement and reinforcing staff morale.

Speaking on behalf of the award recipients, Mr. John Obaji expressed gratitude to the Managing Director for his inclusive leadership style and commitment to staff welfare, noting visible improvements in promotion processes and staff wellbeing since he assumed office.

“A lot has changed positively under your leadership. We are grateful and promise to continue to give our best to ensure EEDL remains the best subsidiary company under EEDC,” he assured.

In his closing remarks, Chuka-Nwosu once again appreciated all departments and staff for their collective and individual contributions, reiterating that customers remain the core reason for the company’s existence. He encouraged staff to sustain their commitment and raise the bar as the company prepares for greater milestones in 2026.
