Nnamdi Azikiwe University has taken another significant step in advancing healthcare innovation with the deployment of Mobile Clinics and Digital Health Monitoring Solutions through the Care365 Initiative, driven by SiliconHub Limited in partnership with the University.

The initiative, introduced under the inspiring leadership of the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Ugochukwu Bond Stanley Anyaehie, is aimed at improving access to smart healthcare services and promoting digital health solutions within the University community.

As part of the initiative, one of the mobile clinics was stationed at the University Medical Centre, while another was deployed to the Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala Female Hostel to ensure easier access to quality healthcare services for hostel residents and students of the institution right at their doorsteps.

The Smart Care Deployment initiative integrates modern technology with healthcare delivery by providing innovative medical support systems designed to enhance efficiency, accessibility, and real-time health monitoring for students and staff of the institution.

Speaking on the development, the Director of Medical Services, Dr. Jane Nkolika Ezeonu, appreciated the Vice-Chancellor for what she described as a remarkable achievement within a short period of his administration. She commended the University management for prioritizing healthcare innovation and improving the welfare of members of the University community.

Dr. Ezeonu further stated that the deployment of the mobile clinics would improve access to healthcare services for students and staff, promote a preventive healthcare culture through regular medical check-ups, and reduce pressure on existing campus health facilities.

Students residing at the Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala Female Hostel also expressed excitement over the development, applauding the Vice-Chancellor for choosing their environment as one of the locations for the mobile clinic deployment. The students described the initiative as timely and beneficial, noting that it would greatly enhance healthcare accessibility and convenience for hostel residents.

The partnership with SiliconHub Limited further reflects the University’s commitment to innovation, digital transformation, and sustainable healthcare development in line with global best practices.

Deployment of the Mobile Clinics on campus will deliver on-site medical consultations and basic treatment across campus, support routine screenings, immunization, and outreach programs, provide rapid response during medical situations and also enable telemedicine access to specialists when required.

Its importance to the University Community cannot be overemphasized as it will greatly improve access to healthcare services for students and staff, promote preventive healthcare culture through regular check-ups and also reduce pressure on existing campus health facilities with overall enhancement of health awareness and early diagnosis.

SiliconHub Limited is a United States and Nigeria-based Technology Company and the product owner of the Care365 Health Hub. The Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the company, Ngozi Joseph Odumuko, is an alumnus of Nnamdi Azikiwe University and a renowned tech leader in both America and Nigeria.

The introduction of the mobile clinics in campus reflects the Vice-Chancellor’s commitment to leveraging innovation and technology towards fostering a healthier university environment.
