The Coalition of South East Youth Leaders (COSEYL), the apex socio-political youth organization in the South East geopolitical zone, has endorsed the Senator representing Anambra Central, Chief Victor Umeh, for another term based on what it described as his exemplary performance in the country’s upper legislative chamber.
President General of COSEYL, Comrade Goodluck Ibem and the publicity secretary, Okey Nwaoru, said the group took the decision rafter a comprehensive review of the performance and transformational leadership of the Senator.
According to the youth leaders, Senator Umeh has performed beyond expectations in all sectors of representation, setting a record that is unprecedented in Anambra Central Senatorial District.
The group said: “His tenure has been marked by purposeful leadership, quality representation, people-oriented projects, effective legislative contributions, and fearless advocacy for the welfare and development of his constituents and Ndigbo at large.
“His transformational performance has clearly distinguished him as a dependable leader who places the interest of his people above personal and political considerations.
“Senator Umeh has remained consistent, vocal, and courageous in speaking against injustice and in defending matters affecting the Igbo nation and the entire South East region.
“His voice at the Red Chamber has continued to command respect and inspire confidence among Ndi Anambra and Nigerians in general.”
COSEYL called on all political parties in Anambra Central Senatorial District to, in the interest of progress and continuity of quality representation, adopt Senator Umeh as their sole candidate for the forthcoming senatorial election.
The group explained that the appeal was borne out of patriotism and the collective desire of the people to sustain the unprecedented developmental strides and effective representation currently being enjoyed in Anambra Central.
“We firmly believe that leadership should be evaluated based on performance, competence, integrity, and commitment to the people, and not merely on political party affiliations.
“There is absolutely no vacancy in Anambra Central Senatorial District. The people have witnessed true representation under Senator Victor Umeh, and the overwhelming support he continues to enjoy across communities is a reflection of his impactful service and unwavering dedication to the welfare of the people.
“COSEYL therefore urges all and sundry, irrespective of political party, religious affiliation, or social status, to rally behind Senator Victor Umeh and support his re-election bid for the greater good of Anambra Central and Ndigbo in general.
“A performing leader deserves encouragement, continuity, and overwhelming support”, the group concluded.
