The Archbishop of the Niger Province, Anglican Communion, Most Revd Dr Alexander Ibezim, has commended the Soludo administration for sustaining improved security across Anambra State.
Archbishop Ibezim called for a strategic shift in development priorities, urging government and investors to focus on building industries and factories rather than hotels, as a means of driving employment and economic growth.

He spoke at St Stephen’s Church Centre, Ihiala, during a two-day Province of the Niger Council meeting hosted by the Bishop of Ihiala Diocese, Right Revd Prof. Israel Kelue Okoye.

The Archbishop also announced that the Primate of the Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion, Most Revd Henry Ndukuba, is expected in Anambra State from February 10 for a five-day Standing Committee meeting of the Church of Nigeria.

The event will be hosted by the Bishop of Amichi Diocese, Right Revd Ephraim Ikeakor, at Osumenyi.

Archbishop Ibezim praised Bishop Okoye and the people of Ihiala for their prayerful support, which he said complemented Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s security efforts, noting that the once-dreaded Ihiala area is now largely safe.

Eight of the nine Anglican bishops in Anambra State attended the Provincial Episcopal Council meeting in Ihiala, alongside other clergy and lay delegates.
