The Presiding Pastor of Rhema Deliverance Mission, Awka Branch, Dr Amaechi Nwachukwu has decried the high rate of immorality among people celebrating Valentine’s Day, otherwise known as Lovers’s Day.

Nwachukwu who is also an orthopedic surgeon and Chief Medical Director of Princeton Specialist Hospital, Awka who spoke to his congregants during Sunday service said the celebration which was held at the weekend was unchristian.

He said: “February 14 which is Valentine Day is now world immorality day. That celebration does not come from God. As a Christian avoid, I urge you to it.

“It is not in the Bible. You can say there are many big people that celebrate it, but it is unfortunately a misguided celebration, but as a Christian you should be firm and know what to teach your children.

“There are many things to celebrate about love. As couple, you can celebrate your spouses everyday, it mustn’t be just on a particular day. But as a single person, you have nothing to celebrate about love once it involves sexual.

“The spirit that operates on February 14 is not of God, it is the spirit of immorality. It should not be seen amongst the children of God. That is why the churches you will find that celebration is mostly among funky pastors. People who are believers but cherish being in the world.

“You can not serve God and still be in the world. A good Christian should be able to stand his ground and say that I do not celebrate Valentine, I’m a Christian. I do not support immorality. Be bold as a Christian. They say he was a saint, but the Bible didn’t tell us so. We are believers in the word of God and the Bible represents that.

“This is not a matter of when you are in Rome behave like Romans. The Bible said flee. What it means is run fast. Joseph didn’t just stay and say no I don’t want, he fled. That your daddy GO approved Valentine does not make it right. This race is individual race and you must account for your actions, just as Daddy GO will account for his,” the preacher said.
