Okafor emerges APGA flag bearer for Awka South LGA poll, appreciates Soludo, stakeholders

The Mayor of Awka South Local Government Area, Prince Chinedu Okafor, has emerged as the flag bearer of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) for the forthcoming local government election in Anambra State.
Okafor, who expressed appreciation following his emergence, thanked Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo for what he described as visionary leadership and commitment to grassroots democracy in the state.
In a statement issued on Sunday, the mayor also extended gratitude to the leadership of APGA, stakeholders, and delegates in Awka South for the confidence reposed in him.
He said the nomination was both an honour and a renewed call to service.
“I heartily express my profound gratitude to His Excellency, Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo, CFR, for his visionary leadership and unwavering commitment to deepening grassroots democracy in Anambra State,” Okafor said.
He added, “I am sincerely thankful to the leadership of our great party, APGA, as well as the esteemed stakeholders and dedicated delegates of Awka South, for electing me as the party’s flag bearer for the forthcoming local government election.”
According to him, the support received underscores the trust and confidence of the people in his leadership.
He pledged to justify the mandate through dedication, transparency, and commitment to sustainable development.
“This nomination is not just a personal honour; it is a renewed call to serve our people with greater dedication, transparency and commitment to sustainable development,” he stated.
Okafor assured residents of Awka South Local Government Area of his resolve to continue working for the progress, unity and overall wellbeing of the council.
He expressed optimism that, with collective effort, the area would record greater achievements in governance and development.
He urged party faithful and residents to remain united and committed to the shared vision of building a more prosperous and inclusive Awka South.
