Wife of the Governor of Anambra State, Dr Nonye Soludo has visited Master Chiziterem, a 10 years old boy battered by his guardian in Awada Obosi, in Idemili North Local Government Area.

Mrs Soludo had immediately rescued the boy and ordered the prosecution of his guardian, Mrs Chisom Chukwunyere and her husband for starving and scalding the boy’s skin with burnt rubber.

The wife of the governor had also moved the boy to a better facility to ensure better care. She visited him on Tuesday, assuring that she would continue to ensure his well being and also confirming that the boy was far more recovered now.

She said: “I’m delighted to see that he is making remarkable progress and is much stronger than when I last visited. I paid another visit to young Chiziterem today to monitor his recovery and offer his family encouragement.

“Every child deserves to be safe, protected, and given the opportunity to thrive. Let’s continue to speak up against child abuse and neglect wherever we see it.

“As promised, I will continue to keep a close watch on his wellbeing to ensure he receives the care and support he needs until he is fully recovered and reunited with his family. His steady recovery is a testament to the dedication of the medical team and the outpouring of love, support, and prayers from kind-hearted individuals. ”

She seized the opportunity announce a toll free line for Anambra people to call when they notice cases of maltreatment of a child. “You can call 112 or 5111 to report any emergency in Anambra State,” she stated.

Last week, Mrs Soludo had also announced the admission into university for another boy she had adopted after she was rescued from an abusive guardian.
