Ogidi community celebrates PDP Dep Chair, Onwuzulike as monarch offers blessings for greater feats

In what looked like a gathering to chat a new course, the ancient town of Ogidi the country home of late world acknowledged literary icon, Professor Chinua Achebe came alive few days ago as the people led by the traditional ruler His Royal Majesty Igwe Pharm Alex Onyido gathered to celebrate one of their great sons and political leader Prince Chima Onwuzulike (Akachukwu Ogidi) who was recently elevated as the State Deputy Chairman (DSC) of Anambra State chapter of People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

Recall that Prince Onwuzlike a renowned Real Estate Consultant based at Abuja was recently elected as the State Deputy Chairman of PDP in Anambra State during the recent State Congress of the Party. The gathering tagged Welcome Home Reception For Deputy State Chairman of PDP Anambra State which took place at the Leophine Residency Hotel located along Old Onitsha – Awka road Ogidi provided a platform for Igwe Onyido to as usual inspire the people for more exploit in politics and other fields of endeavor with royal blessings.

Releasing the blessing in usual traditional voice with cola nut, Igwe Onyido who firstly made it clear that he has no role to play in politics as a royal father as according to him royal fathers are not for politics charged the people particularly the political class to go out there and make great features in the political circle by taking up competitive roles to aspire and contest for positions to serve Nigeria, serve Anambra State and Ogidi town in particular assuring that Ogidi will not just give them support but also celebrate their success.

The Monarch while celebrating Prince Onwuzulike’s success released royal blessing on him asking God to guide him to go further in politics with greater success. “I am not for politics, my role is to release royal blessings. So I am here to release royal blessing on Chima and others who are working hard to gain opportunity to serve Nigeria, serve Anambra State and Ogidi to have their way to success in Jesus nam” he added charging the political class in Ogidi to get across political lines and avoid a situation of putting egg in one basket

In his remark, the Convener of the gathering High Chief Emeka Ken Nwabueze (Ajie Okpala Ogidi) who is the CEO Vitel Wireless explained that the reception was meant for two purposes which include: to appreciate Prince Onwuzulike as one of the people that makes Ogidi proud in every sense of it and to celebrate his feat as the State Deputy Chairman of PDP in Anambra State hoping that the feat is an open door for more things to come. Nwabueze while assuring the PDP Deputy Chairman of continued support in his political pursuit, also assured the people that Ogidi will always support and celebrate the political class with a view to inspire them to greater heights.

Also speaking, a PDP Board of Trustee (BoT) member High Chief Maxwell Okudo (Akagu Ogidi) described Prince Onwuzurlike’s feat as a stepping stone for greater feats in politics assuring that he will always lend his support to beginners and emerging political leaders as a father. Speaking in the same vein the Local Government Chairman of PDP in Idemili North Local Government Area Hon Bonaventure Egbogota said that the Local Government chapter of the party is happy with Prince Onwuzulike’s elevation assuring that the party will support him to deliver inline with the mandate given to him as Deputy State Chairman. In his words the MD Leophine Residency Hotel Mr Chudi Nwabueze described Onwuzulike’s feat as an inspiration for the youth urging the youth to embrace good features in politics instead of being engaged in thuggery.

In response to the speeches and remarks in his honour, the celebrant Prince Onwuzulike thanked Igwe Onyido, the Convener and the BoT member in particular and others in general for finding him worthy enough to be recognised and honoured at this point in time, pledging to continue to work hard to remain a good ambassador of Ogidi ancient town. “Today is great, special and remarkable to me. I feel honoured and inspired by this gathering with the presence of His Majesty, Igwe Ezechuamagha, Ajie Okpala Ogidi, my mentor Akagu Ogidi and everybody here. I don’t have much to say than to thank all of you and to assure that I will continue to work hard to remain a good ambassador for my party and Ogidi” he added

The function was rapped up with a clergyman of the Anglican Communion Ven. Tochukwu Agulefo who is aspiring for Anambra Central Senatorial seat in the National Assembly under the platform of Labour Party coming out to declare his political intention before the audience.
