OkoPoly Appoints Oguegbu as Public Relations Officer

Federal Polytechnic, Oko has announced the appointment of Mr. Oguegbu Ostende Celestine Udoka as its new Public Relations Officer (PRO), in a move designed to strengthen the institution’s communication strategy and public engagement.

The appointment, approved by the Rector, Dr. Chioma Irene Awuzie, reflects the Polytechnic’s commitment to enhancing its visibility, deepening stakeholder relations, and promoting a more coordinated and professional flow of information.

Mr. Oguegbu brings to the role over fifteen years of experience spanning journalism, media practice, and public relations. His academic background underscores his depth and versatility, with qualifications that include a Diploma in Latin and a Bachelor of Philosophy from Rome, a Postgraduate Diploma in Public Administration from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, and an Advanced Diploma in Journalism earned with distinction in Enugu. He also holds a Master’s degree from Nnamdi Azikiwe University and is currently awaiting the final defense of his Ph.D. thesis.

Before this appointment, Mr. Oguegbu served as Head of the Rector’s Media Team, where he played a central role in articulating and amplifying the administration’s policies, reforms, and institutional milestones. His contributions significantly boosted the Polytechnic’s public profile and media presence.

Widely regarded for his eloquence and analytical insight, he is known as a strategic communicator with a strong ability to shape narratives and engage diverse audiences. His professional reputation is built on clarity, consistency, and impactful oratory.

In addition to his media career, Mr. Oguegbu has demonstrated leadership across several platforms. He has served for over nine years as National President of his Old Boys’ Association (SABOBA) and held the position of Deputy Scribe of the Trade Union Congress (TUC), Anambra State Chapter. Within the Polytechnic community, particularly at the Atani Campus, he has contributed in various capacities, including Chairman of the Examination Monitoring Committee, Campus Orator, and Chairman of the Ceremonial Committee.

He is affiliated with key professional bodies such as the Philosophical Association of Nigeria (PAN), and the Institute of Public Administration of Nigeria (IPAN).

A native of Adazi-Ani in Anaocha Local Government Area of Anambra State, Mr. Oguegbu is married and blessed with three children. He is widely respected for his discipline, balanced disposition, and dedication to service.

This appointment signals a renewed institutional focus on strategic communication as Federal Polytechnic, Oko continues to position itself as a forward-looking academic institution in a dynamic media environment.
