The Drivers’ Welfare Club of Nigeria (DWCN) has partnered with the Anambra State Ministry of Information, through its Department of Value Reformation, to promote positive values, responsible citizenship and ethical conduct across the state.
Chairman, Board of Trustees of DWCN, Comrade Monday Elimigbe (RSH), announced the partnership in a statement, saying the initiative was designed to use the media and grassroots engagement to promote attitudinal change among residents.
The campaign, tagged “Reforming Values, Rebuilding Anambra Together,” will take the message of value reformation to motor parks, markets, schools, churches and homes across the state.
Elimigbe said the initiative was based on the conviction that information must be accompanied by positive values to produce meaningful development.
He said the campaign would promote hard work, integrity, dignity of labour, payment of taxes and pride in Anambra’s cultural heritage, while discouraging extortion, fraud and other practices that could undermine the state’s development.
“Our message is simple: ‘Think Right, Act Right, Build Anambra,’” Elimigbe said.
According to him, DWCN will support the campaign through radio programmes, community outreach and other grassroots activities aimed at taking the message directly to the people.
He called on Ndi Anambra, including security personnel and other stakeholders, to support the initiative, stressing that rebuilding the state required collective responsibility.
Elimigbe said the Drivers’ Welfare Club of Nigeria would work with the Ministry of Information to ensure that the value-reformation message reaches communities across Anambra.
The initiative is expected to focus on encouraging responsible behaviour, respect for the law, dignity of labour and values capable of strengthening social cohesion and sustainable development in the state.
