Buhari honours NUJ President, Chris Isiguzo, 437 others

The President of the Nigeria Union of Journalist, Deacon Chris Isiguzo and 437 individuals have been awarded with the 2022 national honours award of the Federal Republic of Nigeria by President Muhammadu Buhari.

The RAZOR News gathered that this year’s list enlisted five recipients for the honour of GCON, CFR 54, CON 67, OFR 64, OON 101, MFR 75, MON 56, and FRM 8.

The list contain individuals from different walks of life like politicians, public officers, security officers, businessmen, monarchs, and religious leaders, media experts among others.

Some of the surprise inclusions were the names of individuals who have contributed to the development of Nigeria, some of which includes Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie and Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala amongst others.

 

Four journalists were among no fewer than 437 individuals who received the 2022 national honours award of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Amongst the journalists are the director general of NTA, Yakubu Ibn Muhammed, and presidential spokesperson, Femi Adesina who received the award of Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON).

President of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Isiguzo received the award of Member of the Order of the Federal Republic (MFR), while the former two-term president of the Nigerian Guild of Editors and renowned communications strategist, Malam Halilu Ibrahim Dantiye was awarded Member of the Order of the Niger (MON).
