Action Alliance (AA) guber candidate, Ozo Jeff Nweke, has told Ndi Anambra to brace up for a new kind of lleadership as the November 8 governorship race gathers steam.
He said it’s time to replace ego-driven leadership with a people-first government, promising to open doors for youths, communities and neglected families across Anambra.
In a statewide broadcast on Sunday, the well‑known philanthropist declared he was “stepping in to fix things” for a people he says have suffered for too long under leaders who only cared about themselves.
“I am not a stranger to you. I am one of you. Ndi Anambra, change is now,” Nweke said in the broadcast.
“I want to be your governor not because of power. I want to be your governor because I am tired of seeing people suffer in silence; tired of seeing our youth give up even when they should not. Our youth are brilliant, but nobody believes in their dreams,” he added.
The AA flagbearer, who has built a name for funding scholarships and community projects in rural areas, accused past leaders of running the state with “ego and self-interest, not empathy.”
“For too long we have been ruled by people who only care about their ego. Whatever they do is designed to favour them and their families only,” he said.
Promising to open opportunities for young people, back local businesses and ensure that government resources reach “every household, not just the powerful few,” Nweke called on voters to take a stand.
“Stop complaining. Make a choice. I have chosen to step in and fix it. Come with me. Believe in me. We will get it done. I am not here to deceive you,” he said.
Political watchers say Nweke, a community man from a family with no political dynasty behind him, is betting on his clean, outsider image to take on the big parties this November.
With just over three months to the polls, all eyes will be on whether Ndi Anambra are ready to ditch the old political order for his “people-first” promise.
