Ahead of the planned defection of the 2023 presidential candidate of Labour Party, Mr Peter Obi to African Democratic Congress (ADC), his political ally and mentee, Mr Oseloka Obaze has moved ahead of him into the party.
Obi will on December 31, at a grand rally in Enugu declare his defection to ADC, alongside many other notable politicians including the senator representing Anambra Central Senatorial Zone, Senator Victor Umeh and Senator representing Abia North, Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe.
Obaze, a long standing ally of Peter Obi, who served as Secretary to the State Government (SSG) during his tenure as Governor of Anambra State, and later his anointed candidate for governorship of the state, announced his defection to ADC on Monday.
Obaze resigned from partisan politics eight months ago from Labour Party, saying he did so on grounds of principles.
But in an announcement he made on social media on Monday, Obaze said: “Eight months ago, I disengaged from partisan politics and from my erstwhile political party on grounds of principles.
“Today, I wish to announce that I’m now a proud card-carrying member of ADC. We walk the talk. We must Rethink and Reunite Nigeria. Much work lies ahead,” He stated.
