Anambra 2025: Ike Agulu Leads Grassroots Charge in Anaocha, Urges Electorate to Sack Soludo at Polls

With just months to the highly anticipated Anambra governorship election, prominent political mobilizer and strategist, Hon. Sir Onyebuchi Okpala, popularly known as Ike Agulu, has intensified grassroots efforts across Anaocha Local Government Area, calling on the people to reject the re-election bid of Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo.

Okpala, who also serves as the National Convener of the Anambra Wind Connect Movement, has embarked on a vigorous campaign comprising door-to-door sensitizations, community dialogues, and town hall meetings.

His message is direct: “It is time to retire Soludo and bring in leadership that prioritizes the welfare and aspirations of the people.”

Speaking during a well-attended community engagement in his hometown of Agulu, Okpala accused the Soludo administration of abandoning critical sectors such as rural infrastructure, employment, and security.

“The people are tired of failed promises and stagnant development,” he declared. “We need a government that listens, delivers, and puts the people first. That’s what we are fighting for this November.”

Okpala is throwing his weight behind the All Progressives Congress (APC) and its governorship candidate, Prince Dr. Nicholas Ukachukwu (Ikukuoma), whom he describes as “a tested hand with a practical development agenda.”

His grassroots mobilization efforts, backed by youths, traders, and local stakeholders, have begun to generate significant political traction, particularly in Anaocha, which is seen as a critical swing area in the forthcoming election. Okpala’s campaign also includes intensive voter education, urging citizens to secure their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) and prepare to make their voices heard.

While Governor Soludo, under the platform of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), continues to highlight his achievements in governance, critics like Ike Agulu argue that the administration has not delivered sufficiently on its core promises.

“Anambra deserves more,” he said. “This election is not just about politics—it’s about the future of our children, our economy, and our dignity. November 8 is our opportunity to take back our state.”

As election season heats up, all eyes remain on Anaocha and other key battlegrounds where voices like Ike Agulu’s are shaping the narrative and stirring political consciousness among the electorate.
