Sir Paul C. Chukwuma was born on the 27th day of February 1978 at Ihiala, in Ihiala LGA of Anambra State, to Late Mr Titus and Mrs Florence Chukwuma of Nneyi Village, Umueri, Anambra East local Government Area, Anambra State.
He is married to Mrs. Fidelia Chukwuma, and they are
blessed with six children.
He studied Philosophy and Law,both of which he graduated with First class honours from the
prestigious University of Nigeria Nsukka (UNN) and Baze University Abuja. He holds Master
of Laws degree ( LL.M) in Intellectual property & Information technology Law from the
reputable and prestigious University of Derby , UK; with Distinction! An Alumnus of the acclaimed Lagos Business School.
He is an ex Seminarian and indeed “a lay religious” . He is a longstanding member of the
noble and ancient Order of Knight of St. Johns’ International ( KSJ) a member of Rotary Club
International, a member of the Nigeria Philosophers Associaton and a member of the Golf
Club of Bujumbura-Burundi.
When it comes to business, he exhibits extraordinary business savvy and entrepreneurial
skills. He set up a group of companies that were initially involved in Information
Communication Technology, Education, Construction and Real estate. His Real estate construction business has serviced institutions of higher learning throughout the length and
breadth of Nigeria, and now, has extended into the East African sub-region.
Over the years, he expanded the scope and expertise of his group of companies to include an ongoing establishment of a steel manufacturing company and Olivia University of Medical
Sciences, both in Anambra State, Nigeria. Added to this is the already completed Olivia University in Bujumbura, Burundi; a first class conventional institution of higher learning.
And Olivia Hotels in West and East Africa. A widely traveled man with business exposure in
Europe, Asia and America.
Having excelled in formal education and in the private sector.
Sir. Paul C.Chukwuma also sought ways to give back to society and humanity. To that end, he set up a number of programs and projects through his NGOs, and Foundation: (1) several scholarship programs,
(2) philanthropic activities, as well as, (3) created a non-profit arm of his group of
companies, called: Centre for Applied Research & Development (CARD).
As the name suggests, CARD is designed to serve as a centre to encourage, support and foster independent, creative and technological initiatives by people with talent, knowledge and/or expertise;to engage in practical, problem-solving research and development.
Realizing that there is so litle an individual can do to solve the societal challenges and still on the journey of giving back to the society, Sir. Paul C. Chukwuma seeks to get involved in active Politics. He is a technocrat in Politics. He is driven by a single desire to use Governance as a tool to liberate and empower the people through a simple *WE CAN DO IT* process. A process driven by the basic standards that has operated in the Western world where transparency and rule of law reigns supreme.
This hunger to make a difference got him involved at the formation of a political merger that birthed the largest political party in Africa; the All Progressives Congress (APC), where he was a founding member.He has deployed his intellectual and managerial skills in various ad-hoc and standing committees of the party .A committed and loyal man. One whose interest in politics is born out of his love and desire for service to humanity and propensity to do good to greater number of people.
Finally, Sir. Paul C. Chukwuma is currently, the President of the Nigeria-Burundi Business Council. He sits on several boards including the Mumbai-Münster Institute of Advance Studies. He is a self-made man that rose from humble origin to socio economic and academic prominence.
