The candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Anambra State governorship election billed for November 8, Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu has expressed optimism at winning the election.
Ukachukwu disclosed this to journalists at the weekend, after a meeting with Stakeholders of the APC drawn from across the 21 LGAs and three Senatorial districts the state.
He said: “The Stakeholders meeting was to review our last elections (by-elections), the disappointments we had and also to discuss and harmonize and approve local governments campaign Council, Wards Campaign Council and Polling Units Campaign Council.
“We decided to have 30 man campaign Council at the polling units up to the wards with 25 people per ward and Coordinate them and then the Local Governments we have the same number 25.
“We now move to form the state Campaign Council. It’s like a review meeting; to review our campaign so far and then the visitation again, know the problems here and there and know how to go about it.
“And I am happy that where we are now is quite good but we still have to make more efforts. The reports we have gotten so far shows that our people are doing the best and they have overcome the challenges of intimidation and all the things that happened during the previous elections (by-elections); all the intimidations by non state actors and the APGA’s manipulation of results and all the things that happened.
“We have gone beyond that with strategies, checks and balances, coordinate and make sure we have a stake,” he added.
He tasked the leaders, elders and members of the party to rise above board in order to confront the challenges ahead to dislodge forces of the ruling APGA led government and to ensure the APC clinches victory in the state.
