Anambra APC Crisis: Johnbosco, Ekwunife, Okadigbo, Anosike, Others Named as Troubleshooters

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has appointed Engr. Johnbosco Onunkwo as Chairman of the Anambra Reconciliation Committee, a move aimed at unifying the party ahead of the November 8, 2025, governorship election.

The appointment was made by APC National Chairman, Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, at the party’s national secretariat in Abuja.

Onunkwo, a respected engineer and philanthropist, will lead an 18-member committee tasked with resolving internal disputes and strengthening party cohesion.

The committee includes prominent Anambra figures such as Senator Dr. Uche Ekwunife, Senator Margery Okadigbo, Mr. Azuka Okwuosa, Senator Emma Anosike, Hon. Nelson Onubuogu, and Senator Stella Oduah.

Dr. Chidozie Nwankwo will serve as Co-Chairman for the South, Senator Dr. Iyom Uche Ekwunife as Co-Chairman for the Central, and Senator Emma Anosike as Co-Chairman for the North, while Ambassador Dr. Elijah Onyeagba will serve as Committee Secretary.

During the inauguration, Dr. Ganduje praised Onunkwo’s leadership skills, saying, “Onunkwo’s leadership, loyalty, and ability to connect with people make him the perfect choice to lead this committee.”

In his acceptance speech, Engr. Onunkwo expressed gratitude for the opportunity and, on behalf of the committee, vowed to deliver on the task entrusted to them.

He emphasized the committee’s commitment to uniting the party, declaring, “We will work tirelessly to heal divisions and reconcile all members. Anambra must go to the APC in November, and we are determined to make this a reality.”

His bold pledge resonated with party faithful, signaling a renewed drive to capture the state’s governorship.
