Anambra Assembly Speaker, Udeze Elected S’East Vice Chairman Of Conference Of Speakers Of State Legislatures

The Conference of Speakers of State Legislatures in Nigeria has elected new leaders that will continue to pilot the affairs of the Conference which represents the collective interest of various State Legislatures towards ensuring a robust legislative institution aimed at promoting the rule of law and good governance in the country.
The Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt.Hon.Dennis Guwor was elected the Chairman of the Conference held in Abuja, while six Vice Chairmen elected to represent the country’s six geopolitical zones included Rt.Hon.Bilaminu Ismael from Zamfara State (North West), Rt Hon.Mohammed Abubakar from Gombe State (North East), Rt Hon.Yusuf Umar from Kogi State (North Central), Rt.Hon.Somtochukwu Udeze from Anambra State (South East), Rt Hon.Abraham Ngobere from Bayelsa State (South South) and Rt.Hon.Adeoye Aribasoye from Ekiti State (South West).
Speaking after his election as the Vice Chairman, South East Conference of Speakers of State Legislatures in Nigeria, the Speaker of Anambra State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon.Somtochukwu Udeze thanked the Conference for finding him worthy to serve the country and South East zone in such exalted legislative position, adding that he will use his wealth of experience as a three-time elected legislator and Speaker to promote legislative excellence and leadership.
Rt.Hon.Udeze assured the people of South East zone of his preparedness to champion a collective legislation that will foster regional development among the five States of the South East in line with the guiding principles of the Conference of Speakers of State Legislatures in Nigeria, while soliciting support from his colleagues, Governors of the South East as well as the Nigerian masses.
