A group, Igbo Youths for Positive Change(IYPC) on Sunday tackled Nollywood actress, Rita Edochie, for vilifying the Anambra State Governor, Prof Chukwuma Soludo, over the demolition of some parts of Mountain of Holy Ghost Intervention and Deliverance Ministry in Onitsha owned by fiery prophet, Chukwuemeka Ohanaemere, a.k.a Odumeje

Edochie had in her Instagram post said demolition of Odumeje’s church should not have been a priority to Soludo’s government, adding “Insecurity, bad roads and uncleanliness in Anambra State are there, but the first thing you(Soludo) rushed to do was to demolish Odumeje’s Church”.

Reacting to the Nollywood actress’s comment, the IYPC National President, Chinedu Obidigwe, said Edochie was just being economical with the truth.

Obigwe said, “Too bad that someone like Rita Edochie is being economical with the truth and went as far as sabotaging the good works Governor Soludo is doing in our state with blackmail.

“Ndi Anambra can testify that since Governor Soludo took over the reins of power in Anambra, he has not rested and that he is working hard to solve the problems in the state.”

Obigwe said on insecurity Soludo had tackled the insecurity problem in such a way that presently Anambra was no longer safe for the hoodlums masquerading to be unknown gunmen, adding, “The governor is dealing with them ruthlessly.

Obigwe’s statement read in part,”The governor is determined to actualise his dream of turning Anambra to a liveable and prosperous homeland. He vowed that no stone will be left unturned in actualising that mission.

“On cleanliness, the Soludo administration is working day and night evacuating dustbin from Anambra streets. The governor had also initiated house-to-house collection of dustbin all in a commendable bid to ensure that Anambra streets are clean.

“Now on the demolition exercise, it is being done for the good of Ndi Anambra. One thing people must know is that under the Soludo administration public interest will always override personal interest. Soludo did not just wake up one morning and order the physical planning agency to embark on demolition exercise. He gave the owners there months warning notice but because our people are used to ‘business as usual’ way of life, they ignored his three months warning notice.

“What Governor Soludo wants to achieve from the demolition exercise is free flow of flood during raining season so that flood will stop killing people and destroying their properties every raining season. The structures being demolished are structures built on waterways.

“Odumeje Church was not completely demolished. What the government agency demolished was the part of the office building of the church that encroached on Nwagene waterway.

“The action of Governor Soludo administration is for public interest.
Those affected by flood havoc every raining season are praising the governor because they know that what the governor is doing will bring an end to flood destruction of their properties and killing of their loved ones. Anybody criticising Governor Soludo action, blackmailing and calling him names because of the things he is doing that will favour the general public is an enemy of progress.”
