
The Correspondents’ Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) has officially sworn in a new leadership to oversee the chapel’s affairs for the next three years. The inauguration ceremony took place during the chapel’s second meeting of the year, held at the Gellys Garden in Awka, Anambra State.
Chief Chuks Ilozue, who was recently elected as chairman, was sworn in by Sir Vincent Ujumadu ¹. In his remarks, Ujumadu emphasized the importance of peace and reconciliation, urging the new leadership to prioritize these values where needed.
The event was attended by notable figures, including Ms Betty Onuchukwu, Vice Chairman of the NUJ, Anambra State Council. Mr Okechukwu Obeta, a former Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, advised the new leadership to work harmoniously with the state NUJ.
A highlight of the occasion was the admission of Mr Obinna Unaeze of the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), who was posted from Niger State. The inauguration marks a new chapter for the Correspondents’ Chapel, and the new leadership is expected to bring fresh ideas and energy to the role.
