The Anambra State Government ably led by Professor Charles Soludo has met with stakeholders on Nsugbe and Umueri land duspute, towards resolving the issues therein.
Earlier, the two communities had met to resolve the issue but unfortunately after the meeting, some Umueri youths allegedly erected a sign post with the inscription ‘Welcome To Umueri And Good Bye To Nsugbe’.
The Deputy Governor of Anambra State, Dr. Onyekachi Ibezim, who serves as the Chairman, State Boundary Committee in company of other boundary members pulled the sign post down and took it to Otuocha Police Division.
While speaking, Dr. Onyekachi Ibezim urged the good people of Nsugbe to continue to maintain peace even in the face of provocation which according to him had claimed two lives.
He the communities to be keepers of peace and act within the confines of the law always, noting that Governor Charles Soludo will not tolerate any rascality from any quarter especially as related to boundary matters.
Dr. Onyekachi Ibezim further warned every other communities with lingering land issues to desist from erecting boundary post of any type in perceived boundaries, stating that it will help bring sanity to Anambra State pending when court cases are ended and disputes laid to rest.
