~ Assures on youth driven governance
Renowned Author and Entrepreneur, Okeke Chika Jerry has emerged the candidate of BOOT Party for the November 8, 2025 Governorship election in Anambra.
Okeke who was the sole aspirant of the party was announced winner of the primary held in Awka having polled 29 votes from the delegates, by Akaniyene Ekpeyong, the party electoral officer for the election.
In an acceptance speech, Chika Jerry lamented what he described as the failure of leadership across different spheres of governance in Nigeria presently.
He said that majority youths are angry and hungry in Nigeria presently while his aspiration to govern Anambra State is to change the situation.
He promised to operate a youth driven governance in Anambra State if elected with special focus on Agriculture, security and education.
“Since after Covid-19, Nigerian youths have organized series of protests starting from Endsars to End bad governance and the recent take it back movement. In most of these protests so many youths lost their lives, and properties worth billions of naira destroyed yet nothing has changed for good in Nigeria.
“Our leaders feel unperturbed. They sit tight to government doing less or nothing to better our lives. This shows that protest or demonstration are not the best tools to bring the needed changes in this country because they all fall on deaf ears.”
“The best option now for the youths is to use the available constitutional means to take power away from our leaders so that we can fix the country by ourselves.
“For how long shall we continue to demonstrate or protest? It’s high time we started taking our destinies into our hands. This is why I am happy for this mandate given to me by the BOOT PARTY to contest for this year’s Anambra State gubernatorial election come November 8, 2025 because this mandate belongs to the youths”
“If we win the election, the state excos and heads of parastatals in the state will be dominated by the youths. The state economy will be driven with agriculture and industries. There will be massive jobs for the youths. Foods will be surplus. Soft loan will be given to the youths who run small scale businesses. Bursaries and scholarships will be given to brilliant students. And condition of learning will be improved significantly thereby reducing the number of school dropout.”
“When we give our youths qualitative education, address the issues of hunger and joblessness, then the issue of insecurity which is the major problem of Nigeria today will be a thing of the past.” He stated.
