An Anambra State High Court presided over by a vacation judge, Hon Justice A.O Okuma has granted an order for the consolidation of two suits against the acting President General of Nteje Development Union, and three others.
Other defendants in the two suits to be consolidated are; Chief Augustine Modika, Uchechuwwu Alexander Nweke and Godwin Igbokwu.
The suits to be consolidated are with suit numbers: 01/261/2025 and 01/294/2025 and were filed by Charles Ibefuna, Nnamdi Chikendi, Chief Chidiebele Obika, Samuel Aniukwu and Emeka Okoli as plaintiffs, for themselves and on behalf of BOT, Nteje Development Union, against the defendants.
The court after listening to submissions by the counsels to the plaintiffs, O.I Udemezue and C.J Nnadozie against the counsel to the defendants, F.C Obodoeze granted the order for consolidation.
The court ruled: “Application is granted. Suit Nos. 01/261/2025 and 01/294/2025 are hereby consolidated. The order for status quo to be maintained by the partics and their various Committees made in OT/294/2025 is hereby extended to apply to parties in this OT/261/2025.
“Case is remitted to regular Court for assignment, hearing and determination. This order is Issued at Awka under the seal of the Court and the hand of the presiding Judge, this 9th day of September, 2025,” the order stated.
