In a resounding show of support, hundreds of tricycle (Keke) drivers in Anambra State have endorsed Governor Prof. Chukwuma Soludo for reelection.
At a press conference held at Gellys inn at Aroma, Awka, the Anambra Keke Drivers Forum expressed their appreciation for the governor’s initiatives and policies, particularly the eradication of multiple taxations and the construction of roads.
The drivers, led by their Coordinator Osita Obi, praised Soludo’s efforts in improving their livelihoods and providing a conducive environment for their operations.
They also commended the governor for his strong will and commitment to leaving a lasting legacy in the state.
“We must return him to complete the job,” the drivers declared, unveiling a sticker in support of Soludo’s reelection bid.
They announced plans to organize a massive rally featuring over 70,000 Keke drivers from across the state, including Ekwulobia, Nnewi, Onitsha, and Awka.
The drivers also called on the governor to conduct elections for Keke drivers, which would serve as a platform to rally the tricycle operators.
“Soludo is the best. We are not like ordinary support groups, we are endemic,” Obi said, emphasizing their determination to ensure the governor’s victory in the November 8 election.
The endorsement is a significant boost to Soludo’s reelection campaign, coming from a key demographic that has benefited from his policies.
The governor’s efforts to transform Anambra State into a hub of economic growth and development have earned him widespread acclaim, and the Keke drivers’ endorsement is a testament to his popularity.
