Anambra LG Poll: APGA Chief Accuses APC of Tactical Withdrawal to Avoid Humiliation

The National Coordinator of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) Media Forum, Chinedu Obigwe, has described the All Progressives Congress (APC)’s move to withdraw from the forthcoming September 28th local government election in Anambra State as a tactical attempt to avoid defeat.

According to Obigwe, the APC’s withdrawal is a clear indication of their lack of confidence in winning the election.

He stated, “Anambra APC is running away from their already foreseen defeat… Since Basil Ejidike took over as Anambra APC Chairman, they have never won any election in Anambra.”

Obigwe recalled a 2017 incident where APC members confessed to former Vice President Yemi Osinbajo that the party does not exist in Anambra State.

He accused the APC Chairman, Basil Ejidike, of attempting to cover up his party’s weakness by withdrawing from the election.

The APGA Media Forum coordinator commended the Anambra State Independent Electoral Commission (ANSIEC) for their efforts in trying to conduct the election, stating that the election will proceed as scheduled on September 28th.

This development has sparked reactions from political analysts, who see the APC’s withdrawal as a sign of their dwindling influence in Anambra State.

The election is expected to be a litmus test for the ruling APGA party, which is confident of emerging victorious.
