Anambra LG poll: Election officials yet to arrive polling units

Officials of Anambra State Independent Electoral Commission (ANSIEC) are yet to arrive polling units in parts of the state, THE RAZOR can authoritative report.

ANSIEC had told journalists on Friday that the election would commence by 8am and close by 4pm, but as at 8:50am, officials are yet to arrive the polling units in most parts of the state.

In parts of Awka where our correspondent visited, these seemed to be no sign of election going to hold in such areas.

Polling units visited included Aroma ward three, Odoagba ward one and another polling unit at Unizik junction.

Also in Iyiowa/Odekpe polling units in Ogbaru Local Government Area, and observer, Mr Agbo Kenneth Chidiebere told our reporter that nothing has commenced, including arrival of officials.

He said: “At the time of this report, no ANSIEC Ad-hoc staff, security personnel or electoral materials have arrived at the pulling unit. Only one party agent from APGA is here at the moment. People are seen carrying out their monthly sanitation in there various houses.”
